Quite Contrary

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells,
 and cockleshells
And pretty maids all in a row.
“Okay….my little maids make sure you plant things symmetrical like!”
“If you want your grilled cheese you better hop to it!”

“Your back aches? What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!”

“You reap what you sow girls!…..Reap what you sow.”

“HUH? Mommy, your nuts.”

She may be right.

Oh, and who am I kidding?
I would never force my maids….errrrr…daughters to garden if they didn’t want to.
(they LOVED it!)
And I would NEVER hold their grilled cheese for ransom.
That would just be wrong on so many levels.

Do you garden?
What did you plant this year?

You’re so funny. I love these pictures and I just LOVE that your sweet girls were helping out in the garden! It’s so rewarding to work hard and then watch things grow up from the ground. I’m an apartment dweller so I have no garden 🙁 I use my parents’ garden as my surrogate…my favorite are tomatoes and cucumbers. I love fresh veggies!

    What have you got planted?

Awww thanks Julie! I saw your comment on PW, thank you! You are too sweet. 🙂

We have strawberries, and we planted lettuce, spinach, cucumber, squash, zucchini, asparagus, jalapeno, and 2 different kinds of tomatoes. I also put in some herbs..cilantro, chives, thyme, and basil. Oh, my girls also planted some carrots on their own in a separate ‘kids’ planter…but I dunno if they will make it. 🙂
